Opal Green is based around a blend of organic acids, biocides and surfactants. When applied to the surface, the surfactants allow the acid and biocide to spread and penetrate the moss or algae. The acid then kills them directly by burning. For more permeable surfaces such as Astroturf a higher water rate of 1000 lt/Ha should be used.
 
Opal Green is a hard surface weed control for use on concrete, asphalt, tarmac, paving, artificial surfaces. It has been designed for the effective for use on algae, moulds and fungi. Opal Green should be used at 50lt/Ha in 500 lt water and can be used between April and October.
 
Opal Green contains urea hydrochloride and benzalkonium chloride (4.5%).
